Creating new forums

In the Administration panel, section Forums, at bottom there's a section Add a new entry, fill in the new forum details and click the button Add.
Forum options
You can set additional forum options for each forum by clicking the forum name, still in the admin panel.

  • Display Signatures
    To prevents the display of users signatures.

  • Enable BBcodes
    If this is set to No, then users will not be able to use BBCodes in the forums. Warning, setting this option to No also disables all of the functions in the textboxer (the inline BBcode editior).

  • Enable smilies
    Enables\Disables the use of smilies in the forums.

  • Allow private topics
    If this option is set to Yes, then users will be able to create private topics. A private topic is visible to only administrators and the original Creator of the topic.

  • Count posts
    Enabling this setting will count the posts made by the users in their profiles. You can disable this option to reduce the tendency to spam.

  • Locked
    If this setting is enabled then the forum will be disabled to all users, including the administrators. All current topics and posts in the forum will be kept until the forum is un-locked.

  • Order
    This number controls the order of the default forum page. The order is controlled numerically, and the default order of the forums is 101, 102 etc..

  • Auto-prune topics after * days
    The Auto-prune function will automatically delete topics after the set amount of days.

  • Check the counters
    Will re-sync the forum counters for the current selected forum (useful if either the counters are out of sync or you have deleted many topics. You should not need to use this under normal conditions.


Posting topics (messages)

To create a new topic, click on the picture New topic, then fill in the title and content and click Submit.
To post a new message in an existing topic, simply fill in the New Post section at the bottom of the topic.
Topic options, for the moderators

  • Bump
    The bump function controls the priority of a topic, if you want a topic to be easily visible you can bump it to give it priority and push it top of the list of topics, right below any announcement or Sticky topic.

  • Lock
    To Lock the topic to prevent further posts.

  • Sticky
    This function allows you to give a topic priority by making it "Stick" to the top of the current forum.

  • Announcement
    This works similarly to the sticky function, it allows you to mark important topics as announcements which get priority above standard topics but have the same priority as sticky topics.

  • Private(#)
    A private topic is visible to administrators and the original poster of the topic only.

  • Default
    This button resets the current topic to default settings, making it a standard topic.

  • Move
    To move the topic to another forum which is selected in the drop-down box.

  • Ghost
    Check this box if you want to leave a trail in the original forum, to tell where the topic was moved.
